"Like all parents, our life revolves around our children. My wife, Brenda, and I are blessed to have four amazing kids and we want to make sure they grow up healthy and strong in McKinney. Yet pressures exist in society and the foundation we lay now will help them when we are not present.
Substance abuse impacts all segments of society. It does not discriminate based on age, sex, race, religion or economic status.
At the age of twelve I went through drug rehab. My road to recovery has been a blessing with over 32-years of sobriety that led to careers in law enforcement, the military and the White House. No kid is perfect - and many make mistakes. Catching those mistakes early-on is critical. Today, on average, 1 out of 5 youth use illegal drugs. It's heartbreaking, but research shows there are things we can do, together, as a community to make a positive difference. Please join us at Coalition for McKinney Drug Free Youth, working together hand-in-hand for the safety of McKinney's children." - Dr. Paul R. Chabot, President
