DRUG FREE MCKINNEY is a collaborative effort working
with schools, parents and youth organizations, elected officials, law
enforcement agencies, businesses, chamber of commerce, civic groups and
faith-based organizations, who are dedicated to creating a healthy
community. Our goal is to reduce or prevent the use of alcohol, tobacco,
and other drugs by the youth in McKinney.
DRUG FREE MCKINNEY is an initiative of the national non-profit, The FreeStyle Foundation, Inc. DRUG FREE MCKINNEY will develop staff and sector leader membership to become
vocal and involved local community figures with knowledge of the
surrounding geographical area, formal expertise, and training in the
realm of counseling, law enforcement, substance education and
prevention, while possessing a myriad of applicable skills.
DRUG FREE MCKINNEY is developing outstanding programs that are available to
the public that include but is not limited to: Community Networking
Meetings to bring together all sector members within the community,
Public Service Announcements and services to rally causes such as taking
the Pledge to Lock Up Your Meds, educational seminars on a variety of
topics and for a variety of audiences, Teen Presenter youth empowerment
and education seminars, Red Ribbon Week training and facilitation among
local schools, and many more activities to keep McKinney drug free.
